About Library
The College Central Library started its functioning in the year 1951 and was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Hon’ble Late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. The college library possessed a rich collection of more than 80,000 text, reference and other print resources in different subjects which were completely damaged and destroyed by the devastating fire incident of 1990. However, in 1991, the college administration initiated the library re-establishment program and currently the Central Library offers following services to its users:
Lending Service
The Central Library offers lending service to students, teachers and other faculty members as per the rules formulated by competent authority. The present print-collection strength is depicted below:

Reference Service
The Central Library offers reference service to the users through more than 10,000 reference material. This includes general references, best sellers, novels, career corner books (job/exam oriented).
Browsing facility
Central Library has well-developed Browsing Centre of 20 workstations with high speed Internet connectivity. Users have unlimited access to web resources with minimal restriction to access any type of resource format, i.e., they can access text, video, podcast or any other available content format.

B). National Digital Library
Gives access to more than 3 million items from more than 3 lakh authors in more than 70 different languages, integrated from multiple repositories.
C). DOAB (Directory of Open Access Books)
Gives access to more than 17,000 Academic peer-reviewed books and chapters from 319 publishers
D). DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)
Hosts a community-curated list of open access journals, maintained by Infrastructure Services for Open Access, giving access to more than 12,000 journals.
Article Delivery Service
Despite offering access to more than 4000 journals, users still need journal articles that are beyond the access entitlement of our journal collection. In order to remain relevant to our users, the library avails the delivery services of N-LIST @eShodh Sindhu consortium.
Library automation
To offer computer-aided operations and services to its clienteles, the library recently started RFID based automated project in the central library. The RFID system enables users (students as well as staff) to self check-in/check-out (issue-return) their books and keeps record of their transactions on real time basis. The system will enable clienteles to browse the library collection or their respective library accounts from anywhere and at anytime. Currently, the user based services are being provided via SOUL 2.0 Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS)
Library Catalogue
Catalogue of Library holdings is available and can be accessed at any time within the library premises while being connected through Ethernet. In addition to know what is available in the Library, registered Library users can check their library account to verify which books are currently on loan to them, their respective due dates, overdue charges, if any, and alike.
Career Corner Facility
The reference section of the library has an updated collection of more than 1000 books related to competitive examinations like NEET, NTA NET etc and Job related exam like UPSC, JKPSC, Bank exams, SSB exams etc.
